By Sameer KauraPHAGWARA: Indian Medical Association have appreciated the initiatives taken by Renowned Bollywood Personality Aamir Khan for the hosting of show “ Satyameva Jayate” , based on the social evils, but expressed deep concern about the little knowledge of the production team on the subjects.
In a detailed letter sent to Aamir Khan, former IMA President Dr Davinder Chhabra said that outrightly blaming the Medical Profession , the expressions of Amir Khan on the show especially the Organ Transplant Issue was very hurtful, he never thought on the reactions which the medical fraternity would carry .
Dr Chhabra said, the doctors are nowhere in manufacturing or framing the Drug policies of the government- Generic & Branded drugs. He, however, admitted that a small percentage of the doctors as whole are definitely mismatched in this society.
He told Aamir Khan that his script writers & research team seems to have very poor knowledge on the social subjects taken , they should have done good home work right from the struggling medical college days, working at odd places, odd long working hours, interviewing patients & their attendants who still believe that the soul of their loved ones’ have been restored by this noble profession .
He said, Khan had taken good social subjects of the Indian society which will definitely show some positive results , but the confirmation of the facts before the telecasting of the shows are the need of the hour.
