CHANDIGARH: Cooperative Sugarmills in Haryana have so far produced over 14.87 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 188.70 lakh quintals of sugarcane during the current crushing season, whereas 12.15 lakh quintals of sugarcane was produced during corresponding period last year.
While stating this, Krishna Mohan, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Cooperation said that sugarmills of Gohana, Shahbad, Meham and Rohtak have sofar exported over four crore units of electricity to the power utilities during the current crushing season.
Giving details of the sugarcane crushed by the various sugarmills in the State, he said that a maximum of 36.77 lakh quintals of sugarcane was crushed by cooperative sugarmill, Shahbad and the Rohtak sugarmill stood at second position by crushing 20.11 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
As much as 19.67 lakh quintals of sugarcane had been crushed by cooperative sugarmill, Meham, 18.57 lakh quintals by cooperative sugarmill Kaithal, 18.63 lakh quintals by cooperative sugarmill, Gohana, 16.67 lakh quintals by cooperative sugarmill, Karnal, 15.73 lakh quintals of sugarcane by cooperative sugarmill, Panipat, 14.95 lakh quintals by cooperative sugarmills, Sonepat, 14.74 lakh quintals by cooperative sugarmill, Jind and 12.86 lakh quintals by cooperative sugarmill, Palwal. Assandh sugarmill had crushed 17.12 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
