CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government has accorded permission to all the degree holder candidates of the state to apply for the post of Junior Engineers in the irrigation department. The government has also extended the date to apply from 28 August to 25 September.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesman of the irrigation department said that previously as per the Punjab government guidelines only diploma holders were eligible for these posts. He said that some disgruntled degree holder candidates went to high court for seeking relaxation, which the court has accorded.
He further said that the Punjab government in pursuance of the court order extended relaxation to all the degree holders' candidates beside diploma holders. He said that the irrigation department has sought the applications to fill the 150 posts of JEs.
He said that out of these Posts, 120 JEs would be recruited from civil, 25 from mechanical and 5 JEs from electrical trade. He said that the candidates could apply online through C-DAC website: http://recruitment.cdacmohali.in/
