Directed Authorities to Take Immediate Action to Prevent Industrial Wastewater from Reaching Sewerage Treatment Plants and Directly Into Buddha Dariya

Today, the Minister for Local Government, Dr. Ravjot Singh, chaired a meeting at the Municipal Bhawan with senior officials from the Punjab Pollution Control Board, Punjab Science, Technology and Environment Department, and Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board to discuss urgent measures to make Buddha Dariya pollution-free. He instructed that strict measures should be taken to ensure that the discharge of industrial wastewater is fully stopped to avoid affecting the efficiency of the sewerage treatment plants.
During the meeting, Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh emphasized that no industry or individual would be allowed to pollute Buddha Dariya. He directed that immediate and strict action be taken against factories or units violating the regulations.
Cabinet Minister further stated that the Punjab Pollution Control Board should form a joint team including officials from the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana.
