RS Bali held a press conference today in Dharmshala a day after the Enforcement Directorate had raided his premises. Bali instated his support to the probing agency and said that they’re doing there work and he will provide them with whatever they require.
Despite people calling it a politically motivated investigation, Bali emphasized the need for thorough investigations and decisive action if any hospital is found to have committed fraud. Bali said that he does not want to give this situation a political colour.
Bali highlighted that irregularities and fraud have been detected in numerous hospitals across the country under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Yojana, which is a serious concern. He stated that the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana aims to provide treatment to impoverished and needy patients, and any deceit towards these patients is unacceptable. He stressed that any fraudulent activities by hospitals must be investigated rigorously and that strict measures should be enforced. Bali clarified that his stance is not politically motivated but rather a response to genuine concerns about healthcare fraud.
