Delhi Police has registered 10 FIRs in connection with the violence that erupted during the CJP Parliament March in the national capital. According to police officials, four FIRs have been lodged at Parliament Street Police Station, three at Connaught Place Police Station, and one each at Mandir Marg, Barakhamba Road, and Kartavya Path police stations.
In view of the security situation, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has temporarily closed 16 metro stations until further orders. The affected stations include Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Seva Teerth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, and Shivaji Stadium.
DMRC said the stations have been shut as a precautionary measure to maintain public safety and security.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the Centre, questioning why the government was unable to remove one of its ministers. "We should ask why the government cannot remove its minister. Is the government under pressure? Does the minister know secrets that prevent his removal? The government appears to be afraid," Yadav said.
