AMRITSAR: 24 religious teachers appointed by Dharm Prachar Committee of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for various schools/colleges were given appointment letters at Shiromani Committee office today. These religious teachers will teach children Gurbani, Sikh history, Sikh Rehit Mariyada . Before this, 53 religious teachers are serving in different schools/colleges by the Dharma Prachar Committee. With the appointment of these 24 newly appointed teachers, the number of religious teachers has increased to 77.
Speaking on the occasion of giving the appointment letter to the newly appointed religious teachers, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the responsibility of the religious teacher is to give information about Gurbani, Sikh ethics and religious history to the children.
The Shiromani Committee is continuously working to provide information about religion and history to the children in the schools/colleges under its management.
He said that your responsibility is completely different from that of other teachers. Cultivating interest in children towards Gurbani, history and values of religion should be the priority of the religious teacher.
Advocate Dhami encouraged the religious teachers to connect the children with Gurmat within the scope of panth-approved non-Sikh norms and asked the newly appointed teachers to discharge their duties responsibly.
