A 25-year-old man from Gujarat, identified as Utsav Pandya, was killed in a tragic road accident near Masewal village in Kiratpur Sahib on Friday afternoon.
According to information, Utsav was returning from a trip to Manali on his motorcycle along with his friends. At around 2:30 pm, near Masewal, his bike collided with a car allegedly coming from the wrong side of the road. Following the impact, the motorcycle went out of control and crashed into a truck parked along the roadside.
Utsav sustained serious injuries in the collision. He was rushed to a hospital in a National Highway ambulance, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
ASI Pawandeep Singh confirmed the accident and identified the deceased as Utsav Pandya, son of Vivek Pandya, a resident of Gujarat. His body has been kept in the hospital mortuary, while his family has been informed. The body will be handed over to the family after their arrival.
Police have initiated an investigation into the accident.
