Punjab government has declared June 29 as a public holiday on the occasion of Kabir Jayanti. As a result, all government offices, boards, corporations, and other state government establishments will remain closed across the state.
Kabir Jayanti is celebrated across Punjab with great devotion and enthusiasm to mark the birth anniversary of the revered saint and poet Kabir Das. Devotees participate in religious gatherings, prayers, and cultural events to commemorate the occasion.
Meanwhile, all government and private schools in Punjab are already closed due to the ongoing summer vacation amid the prevailing heatwave. The state government has also revised the working hours of government offices in view of the high temperatures.
