AAP Punjab President and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora today expressed satisfaction over the impactful results of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's ongoing war against drugs in the state. Addressing the media, he highlighted the comprehensive strategy undertaken to combat the menace of drugs, which has plagued Punjab for decades.
Minister Arora stated that the AAP government, under the leadership of National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, had launched the anti-drug campaign with an unwavering commitment to eradicate this societal evil. He noted that the initiative is being executed with a dual-pronged approach focusing on supply reduction and demand reduction.
On the enforcement front, Punjab Police has intensified its crackdown on drug suppliers and smugglers. Over the past 15 days, 1,488 cases under the NDPS Act have been registered, leading to the arrest of 2,049 individuals involved in drug peddling and smuggling. The police have also demolished 28 drug-related illegal properties built using drug money, sending a strong message to those profiting from this destructive trade.
