Punjab NRI Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal today issued a strong statement condemning Congress leaders for their alleged hypocrisy in supporting farmers. Dhaliwal criticized Congress MPs for staging protests in the Lok Sabha against the AAP government in Punjab while failing to stand up for farmers during their time in power.
Minister Dhaliwal expressed his disappointment after watching Congress leaders on television holding placards and claiming to support farmers. “It is heartbreaking to see Congress leaders now posing as supporters of farmers, despite being responsible for Punjab’s backwardness. Punjab’s economic struggles and unfair division are the result of Congress’s flawed policies,” Dhaliwal stated.
The Minister questioned Congress MPs’ track record, highlighting their inaction on critical issues. “These Congress MPs have never raised their voice in Parliament for Punjab’s farmers. They stayed silent when Punjab’s RDF were withheld, when the state’s development projects were stalled, and when its rightful dues were denied. Where were these leaders then?” Dhaliwal asked.
Drawing a contrast, Dhaliwal praised Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the AAP government for their consistent support for farmers.
