Punjab youth staged a protest outside the Punjab Election Office in Chandigarh against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also joined the demonstration, demanding action over their concerns.

The protesters took out a march and moved towards the Election Office with the intention of gheraoing it. However, police personnel stopped them by putting up barricades to prevent them from moving forward.

The protest witnessed the participation of AAP Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and several party MLAs, who joined the youth in expressing their resentment against the Chief Election Commissioner.

Tensions escalated as protesters attempted to move ahead, leading to pushing and shoving between the demonstrators and police personnel. Following the scuffle, police detained Manish Sisodia and several other protesters.

The demonstration drew attention to the growing political confrontation over issues concerning the Election Commission, with AAP leaders and Punjab youth participating in the protest outside the state election office.
