Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu on Wednesday termed the murder of Parvinder Singh Jhota in Mansa an extremely unfortunate and tragic incident, expressing deep condolences to the bereaved family. He asserted that anyone who takes the law into their own hands and believes they can escape legal action is living under an illusion.

Pannu said the incident had deeply saddened everyone and assured that the Aam Aadmi Party and the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government stand firmly with the victim’s family in this difficult time.

Reiterating the state government’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs and drug peddlers, Pannu said Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had consistently maintained that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

He said the police had performed their duty by arresting the accused within 24 hours of the incident, adding that the law was taking its course and the administration was acting accordingly.

“The law is taking its course, and the administration is doing its job,” Pannu said, asserting that the swift action demonstrated the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law.

Pannu further warned that no matter how influential or powerful a person might be, anyone who assumes they can act above the law would be mistaken. He emphasised that Punjab is governed by the rule of law and that nobody is above it.
