Path Cleared for AAP’s Mayor in Jalandhar After Five Councillors Join the Party

The path is cleared for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to form its mayor in the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation. On Monday, five councillors, including two from Congress, one from BJP, and two independents, joined the party. With this, the Aam Aadmi Party has now achieved the magical majority figure in the municipal corporation.
In the presence of AAP leaders and Cabinet Ministers Harbhajan Singh ETO, Dr. Ravjot Singh, and Mohinder Bhagat, all five councillors formally joined the Aam Aadmi Party. With their inclusion, the Aam Aadmi Party now has a total of 43 councillors in the municipal corporation, which is also the required number for mayor.
Congress councillors Manmeet Kaur from Ward No. 47 and Parveen Vasan from Ward No. 65 joined the party. BJP councillor Sulekha from Ward No. 63 also joined AAP. Additionally, two independent councillors—Tarsem Singh from Ward No. 46 and Seema from Ward No. 81—also became part of the Aam Aadmi Party.
All five councillors formally joined the Aam Aadmi Party and assured their full support to the party in the corporation.
