A 33-year-old man from Khubban village in Abohar allegedly died by suicide after jumping into a canal in Rajasthan. His body was recovered from the Raj Canal late Tuesday night and has been kept at the mortuary of Abohar Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The deceased has been identified as Arvind, son of Ram Kishan, originally from Uttar Pradesh. He had been living in Khubban village for around seven years and supported his family by purchasing scrap using a bike-mounted cart. He was the father of three daughters.

According to his family, Arvind had been facing financial difficulties for some time. Arvind left home on Sunday evening but did not return. Concerned family members began searching for him. The following day, his bike was found near a canal in Midukhera village, raising fears that he may have entered the water.

The family subsequently continued searching in the Rajasthan canal area. His body was recovered from the Raj Canal late Tuesday night. His brother Mahendra and other family members present at the spot identified the body.

Police personnel, including Sito police post official Kuldeep Kumar, shifted the body to the mortuary at Abohar Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police are carrying out further proceedings in the case.
