Air India and Air India Express have temporarily suspended flights to and from three major Saudi Arabian cities — Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam — in view of the prevailing circumstances. The airlines announced the decision in a social media post, stating that the suspension will remain in effect until October 24, 2026.

Passengers affected by the disruption have been offered options to change their travel dates, rebook flights through alternative airports and claim refunds.

According to Air India, passengers holding confirmed tickets issued on or before October 15, 2026, for travel scheduled between October 9 and October 25, 2026, will be eligible for special assistance. Eligible passengers can reschedule their travel dates once, free of additional charges, for travel up to November 10, 2026. The waiver will apply to qualifying bookings and will be subject to the airline's applicable conditions.

The airline said it understands the inconvenience caused to passengers and is making efforts to provide maximum flexibility during the disruption.

Passengers whose flights to or from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam have been affected may also explore rebooking options through certain other cities in the Gulf region. However, these arrangements will depend on seat availability and the options offered by the respective airline.

Air India has also confirmed that passengers whose flights have been cancelled can opt for a full refund if they decide not to travel.

To assist affected travellers, the airlines will provide support through their contact centres and booking offices in Gulf countries and Indian cities. Passengers have been advised to contact the respective airline directly to verify their booking status and confirm the available rescheduling, alternative travel and refund options.
