Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday constituted an expanded manifesto committee for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, increasing its strength from nine to 20 members. Party president Sukhbir Singh Badal has entrusted senior leader Balwinder Singh Bhunder with leading the panel as its chairman.

Dr Daljit Singh Cheema has been appointed as the member secretary of the committee, which includes several senior party leaders. The party said the objective is to ensure a balanced mix of experience, fresh ideas and the aspirations of the younger generation while shaping its electoral priorities and policy agenda for the upcoming polls.

According to a statement issued by the Akali Dal, the expansion of the manifesto committee aims to reach every section of society and prepare a transparent and effective roadmap for Punjab’s development. The party leadership believes that the manifesto should reflect not only administrative experience but also the perspectives of youth and greater representation of women.
