CM issues directions to ensure maintenance of buildings and proper cleanliness arrangements

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that all government hospitals in the state should be equipped with modern facilities. He said that from maintenance of hospital buildings to cleanliness arrangements, everything should be kept in proper order. Officers should conduct regular inspections. Strict action will be taken against officers and employees showing negligence in cleanliness matters, while those performing well will be honoured.
The Chief Minister was reviewing the maintenance and cleanliness arrangements of nearly a dozen government hospitals of the state in Chandigarh today.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary of Public Works Department Anurag Agarwal, Commissioner and Secretary of Finance Department, Mohammed Shayin, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. Saket Kumar, OSD to Chief Minister Bharat Bhushan Bharti and Vivek Kalia, along with senior officers of the Health and Public Works Departments were present.
The Chief Minister reviewed in detail the works related to repair of hospital buildings, electrical maintenance, cleanliness and beautification from reception and wards to public facilities, and efforts to make the premises green. He directed the officers that all government hospitals in the state must be absolutely clean and beautiful. There will be no shortage of funds for this work.
He instructed the officers to lay special emphasis on the “cleanliness culture” in hospitals. Strict action will be taken against any officer or employee who shows negligence in cleanliness, while those performing excellently will be honoured.
Chief Minister said that patients visiting hospitals should not face any kind of inconvenience and special attention must be given to this. He also stated that after repair works of hospital buildings are completed by the Public Works Department, their maintenance responsibility lies with the Chief Medical Officer of the hospital.
The Chief Minister also directed to take care of the plants in the hospital premises, plant more trees as required, and keep the parks well-maintained.
