Punjab Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora has taken a sharp dig at Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, questioning his remarks regarding election tickets and accusing the Congress of relying heavily on its central leadership.
In a social media post, Arora shared Warring’s statement and said that the leader of a party that frequently criticizes others for being “run from Delhi” should not himself be dependent on the high command for a ticket from a constituency of his choice.
Tagging Raja Warring, Arora wrote that he should display confidence and courage similar to former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. He remarked that a state party president should not appear uncertain about his own political future, as such statements could create doubts among party workers about their prospects.
Arora further stated that Warring should maintain the dignity of the position he holds and speak responsibly. He alleged that the Congress leadership in Punjab continues to depend on directions from Delhi rather than taking independent decisions at the state level.
AAP leader also questioned what message such remarks send to grassroots Congress workers. “If the state president himself is not sure about his ticket, what confidence can ordinary workers have about their future in the party?” he said, intensifying the political war of words between the ruling AAP and the opposition Congress ahead of upcoming electoral battles in Punjab.
