Amritsar Rural Police have arrested two more suspects in connection with a grenade recovery case, expanding the investigation into a suspected arms and narcotics trafficking network. The latest operation led to the seizure of six pistols and nearly three kilograms of heroin from the accused.
Police have registered a fresh case against the arrested individuals and launched further investigations. Preliminary findings suggest that the recovered firearms were allegedly intended to be supplied to gangsters operating in Punjab.
Investigators suspect the accused may be part of a larger network involved in illegal weapons and drug smuggling. Authorities are conducting detailed interrogations to identify other members of the syndicate and uncover the full extent of its operations.
Earlier, police had arrested two suspects with grenades, and the subsequent investigation has been focused on tracing the network behind the recovery. Officials believe the latest arrests could provide crucial leads in dismantling the larger criminal operation.
