Arya Samaj teachings must be adopted to re-build India as a Vishwaguru: CM

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh-

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, said that the philosophy and teachings of Arya Samaj must be embraced to restore India’s ancient glory as the ‘Spiritual Vishwaguru’.

The Chief Minister was addressing the International Arya Mahasammelan 2025, Delhi on Sunday. On this occasion, he released a souvenir of the Arya Samaj, which documents the 150-years of its golden journey. Governor of Gujarat and Maharashtra, Acharya Devvrat, was also present on the occasion.

He said that Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati awakened the nation’s consciousness and laid the foundation of India’s freedom struggle. His reformist ideals, promoting women’s education, ending caste discrimination, encouraging widow remarriage, and protecting cows, remain timeless pillars of a progressive society. Inspired by these ideals, revolutionaries like Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra and Shaheed Bhagat Singh drew strength from Arya Samaj’s vision of a fearless, enlightened India, he added.

Highlighting Haryana’s commitment to Maharishi Dayanand’s principles, the Chief Minister said that Yogshalas are being established across villages and towns to promote health and discipline through yoga. He emphasised that the Gurukul education system has become even more important in today’s era, as it focuses on character building and the development of moral values and ethics among youth. He recalled that due to the efforts of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, the United Nations declared June 21 as International Yoga Day, which brought global recognition to India’s invaluable heritage.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people to imbibe the principles of Arya Samaj and actively contribute to building a morally strong, self-reliant, and enlightened India. He also announced a grant of Rs. 51 lakh to the institution from his discretionary quota.
