In a tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district, Aban Ahmad, the youngest son of mafia don and former MP Atiq Ahmed, was killed along with another person, while three of his friends sustained serious injuries.
Accident took place on the Jhansi–Kanpur National Highway in the Poonch police station area. According to police, all five occupants were travelling from Prayagraj to Jhansi to meet Ali Ahmad, another son of Atiq Ahmed who is currently lodged in Jhansi jail.
Car reportedly lost control after animal came onto road
Eyewitnesses said the speeding Hyundai Creta was heading towards Jhansi when an animal suddenly appeared on the highway near Khilli village around 10:30 am. In an attempt to avoid hitting the animal, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into the divider with great force.
Two killed on the spot
Aban Ahmad and Sonu Khan, who were seated in the front, suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot. The injured were identified as: Ahjam, a resident of Badshahi Mandi, Prayagraj, Mohammad Zaid, a resident of Kotwali area, Umar Ahmad, a resident of Pura Mufti. All three injured are residents of Prayagraj and were rushed to the Jhansi Medical College for treatment.
Vehicle badly mangled, police begin probe
Police reached the spot immediately after receiving information about the crash. Jhansi SSP B.B.G.T.S. Murthy said that the deceased was preliminarily identified as Aban Ahmad, son of Atiq Ahmed.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the front portion of the vehicle was completely mangled. Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident, and further details are awaited.
