Punjab Newsline, Mohali-

Today, former Punjab Health Minister and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu inducted several prominent families into the Congress Party in Mohali. On this occasion, from a traditional Akali family, former President of the Education Board Gurdeep Singh Dhillon, former President of Landran College Karandeep Singh Dhillon, former General Secretary Ranjit Singh Mann, former General Secretary Harbans Singh Dholowal, Advocate Surinder Singh Chehal, Kanwar Singh Gill, Bhupinder Sharma, Sujalpuri, and from the Aam Aadmi Party, Maninder Singh Bittu joined the Congress.

Addressing the gathering, Sidhu said that these inductions would further strengthen the Congress Party.
Sidhu also reminded people of the development works carried out by the Congress in Mohali. He said that during the Congress government’s tenure, major projects were initiated, such as a 300-bed hospital in Sector 66. Tenders had already been approved and foundation stones laid, yet these projects remain incomplete even today.

He further mentioned that the Autism Centre built in Mohali’s Sector 79 now lies vacant and in a dilapidated condition. The dispensary constructed in the same sector is also incomplete and stalled, due to which people are being deprived of essential healthcare services.

Targeting the current Punjab government, Sidhu said that this issue is not merely about buildings or statistics, but about the functioning of the system. The public wants to know where the promised projects have stalled and why. He said the responsibility for this lies with the present Aam Aadmi Party government.

Sidhu reiterated the Congress Party’s commitment to accelerating Punjab’s development. He said that improvements would be brought across all sectors, including roads, healthcare, education, and public welfare. He added that the policies of the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Aam Aadmi Party have pushed Punjab’s development backward, and now the time has come for honest and strong leadership to step forward for the prosperity of the people.

Sidhu also assured that every leader who has joined the Congress Party will be given full respect and honour, and their abilities and experience will be utilised for the development of Mohali and for strengthening the Congress Party.
