The Supreme Court of Bangladesh has changed the decision taken by the Dhaka High Court to give 56 percent reservation in government jobs. According to the information, the Supreme Court has ordered to reduce the reservation from 56 percent to 7 percent. According to the decision, 5 percent reservation will be given to the families of freedom fighters. It was earlier 30 percent. Apart from this, ethnic minorities, transgenders and disabled people have been included in 2 percent. According to the court, 93 percent of the jobs will be given on the basis of merit.
It is worth noting that in 2018, the 56 percent reservation given to various classes was abolished by the Bangladesh government. On June 5 this year, the High Court changed the decision of the government and implemented the reservation again. Violence has been going on in Bangladesh since then. To control the situation in Bangladesh, the government has imposed curfew in the entire state and has given orders to shoot the protesters at sight.
