Granting municipal status to Barwala will lay foundation for region’s holistic development in coming years: Ranbir Gangwa

The Haryana Government has issued a notification granting Municipal Council status to Barwala. This notification has been issued under Section 2A(2) of the Haryana Municipal Act, 1973. As per the notification, Barwala in Hisar district has been officially declared a Municipal Council.

Public Health Engineering and Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa described this decision as the fulfillment of a long-standing aspiration of the people of Barwala. He said he had been continuously making efforts to secure this status for the town. In this regard, he had also written to the Urban Local Bodies Department and strongly advocated the demand keeping in view the developmental needs of the area. Today, those efforts have borne fruit.

The Minister said with the formation of the Municipal Council, the pace of development in Barwala will gain new momentum. Expansion and better management of facilities such as roads, sewerage, drinking water supply, street lighting, and sanitation will now be ensured more effectively and rapidly.

Expressing gratitude to CM Nayab Singh Saini and Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel, Gangwa said this decision reflects the CM’s sensitivity to public sentiment and his firm commitment to development. Congratulating the people of Barwala, he said this achievement is a matter of pride for the entire region. Granting Municipal Council status to Barwala will serve as the foundation for the town’s comprehensive development in the years to come.
