Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reached Jalandhar as part of his statewide “Shukrana Yatra” launched after the implementation of the anti-sacrilege law in Punjab. The Chief Minister is set to hold a major public gathering in the Jalandhar Central constituency and interact directly with local residents during the Jan Sabha.

According to the schedule, CM Mann will attend a program at Varinder Singh Ghumman Park on Thursday morning before participating in a street-corner meeting in Adampur. The yatra is aimed at thanking the people of Punjab following the government’s move to bring a stricter law against sacrilege incidents.

The “Shukrana Yatra” began from Sri Anandpur Sahib, where the Chief Minister paid obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib before starting the journey. Senior leaders, including cabinet minister Harjot Singh Bains and MP Malvinder Singh Kang, accompanied him during the launch.

During the tour, CM Mann is also scheduled to visit several major religious places across Punjab, including Sri Harmandir Sahib and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib.

Addressing the purpose of the yatra, Bhagwant Mann said the Punjab government remains fully committed to protecting the dignity and respect of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and has fulfilled the long-pending demand of people for stricter action against sacrilege incidents.
