In a significant political development in Punjab, Gyan Singh, cousin of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday in Chandigarh.
He was formally inducted into the party by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar.
Gyan Singh, a resident of Satauj village in Sangrur district, has had a long political journey. He began his career during the 2012 Assembly elections and became actively involved in strengthening the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) since its formation in 2013. He worked closely with the party organisation and remained associated with key campaign responsibilities over the years.
From 2014 to 2022, he served as in-charge of the Sangrur MP office. During the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, he played an important role as office in-charge for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s constituency Dhuri, managing campaign and organisational work. His entry into the BJP is being viewed as a strategic gain for the party, especially in the Malwa region, where he has strong political experience and grassroots connections.

On this occasion, Baljinder Singh Warring also announced his decision to join the BJP. Additionally, AAP leader Manjinder Singh also joined the BJP. These developments have become a topic of discussion in the political corridors of Punjab and Haryana.
