Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has never treated the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community as merely a vote bank but has empowered it by entrusting its members with key leadership roles.
Addressing the Saini Samaj Welfare Committee’s grand convention in Rajpura, Punjab, Saini said that while other political parties have traditionally viewed the OBC community as a vote bank, the BJP has focused on giving meaningful representation and responsibility to its leaders.
He cited the appointment of senior Punjab OBC leader Sardar Iqbal Singh Lalpura to the BJP’s highest policy-making body, the Parliamentary Board, as a significant example of the party’s commitment to empowering the community.
During his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the Saini community’s rich history and its contributions to nation-building. He also called upon members of the community to remain united in safeguarding their rights and interests.
Saini assured the gathering that he would leave no stone unturned, both at the policy level and personally, to protect the community’s rights and promote its welfare.
