Two schools in Jalandhar APJ School and Army Public School have received bomb threat emails, triggering an alert in the police department and security agencies.

According to preliminary information, the threatening emails were received by the school authorities on Friday morning. The emails reportedly mentioned saving children at the schools, raising concerns among the staff and parents. However, no school holiday has been announced so far, and classes have not been suspended.

A source at APJ School confirmed that the staff received information about the threatening email in the morning and immediately informed the police. The authorities are yet to conduct search operations at the schools, according to the available information.

Notably, several schools in Jalandhar, including APJ School, have received bomb threats more than five times in the past. Previous threatening emails were reportedly sent in the name of Khalistani organisations.

The latest email also refers to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's rally scheduled to be held in Sangrur on November 4. Following the threat, police and security agencies have been put on alert.

Police cyber teams are working to identify the sender and trace the IP address from which the email was sent. An investigation into the matter is underway.

Threat to Railway Services from November 1 to 4

The threatening email also warns people against travelling by trains between November 1 and 4. It specifically mentions trains operating to and from Amritsar, Ludhiana, Ferozepur and Bathinda. The email also threatens railway tracks, raising concerns over the security of railway infrastructure across Punjab.

Authorities are examining the threat and further action is expected following the investigation.
