A bomb threat targeting the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) headquarters and the Mayor’s Office in Sector 34 triggered panic and a massive security response on Thursday. The threat was received via email, prompting authorities to immediately evacuate the entire government complex and launch a comprehensive search operation.

Police teams, bomb disposal squads, and dog squads rushed to the MCG headquarters after the threatening email was received. As a precautionary measure, employees and members of the public present at the premises were safely evacuated while security personnel conducted thorough inspections of the area.

According to officials, the email claimed responsibility in the name of the “Khalistan National Army” and allegedly threatened to carry out IED explosions at the Gurugram Mayor’s Office and Municipal Corporation building between 1:11 pm and 3:11 pm. The message also contained separatist slogans and references to avenging historical events linked to Operation Blue Star.

The threat email further warned of alleged IED blasts on railway tracks between Chandigarh, Ambala, and Delhi on June 5 and 6 at around 9:11 am. It urged people to avoid travel and claimed responsibility for planned attacks as an act of revenge.

The message also listed several prominent temples in Delhi and Haryana as potential targets, including Gauri Shankar Temple in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk, Kalkaji Temple, Yogmaya Temple in Mehrauli, Bhima Devi Temple in Pinjore, Kartikeya Temple in Pehowa, and Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple in Kurukshetra.

The Gurugram threat comes shortly after a similar bomb threat email was received at the Punjab Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh. Following that alert, police, bomb disposal teams, and other security agencies were deployed to conduct security checks at the secretariat complex.

Authorities are currently investigating the source of the emails and have heightened security measures across sensitive government buildings, transportation networks, and religious sites. Officials have appealed to the public to remain calm and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies immediately.
