A shocking incident has surfaced from Sabra village in the Patti area of Punjab’s Tarn Taran district, where a man allegedly killed his sister with an axe and seriously injured his mother. The brutal attack created panic in the village, while police have arrested the accused and launched an investigation into the case.

According to police officials, the accused has been identified as Rasal Singh, son of Mukhtiyar Singh, a resident of Sabra village. Preliminary information suggests that the accused was mentally unstable. Before the attack, an argument reportedly broke out inside the house over an unknown issue.

In a fit of rage, the accused allegedly first killed a pet goat and then a dog inside the house.

Police said that when his sister, 26-year-old Sandeep Kaur, who was married in Tut Pangala village, came to know about the incident, Rasal Singh allegedly attacked her with an axe on the head. She died on the spot due to severe injuries.

Their mother was also attacked while trying to intervene and suffered serious injuries in the incident.

As soon as the matter was reported, teams from Sadar Patti Police Station and Sabra Police Post reached the spot. DSP Parvesh Chopra said that the accused was immediately arrested and further investigation is underway.
