Two suspected Pakistani infiltrators were killed after BSF personnel opened fire on them while they were allegedly attempting to enter Indian territory near Rajoke village in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district.

According to preliminary information, the incident took place near the Rajoke Border Outpost (BOP) in the Khalra police station area at around 12:30 am on Thursday night.

The BSF personnel reportedly spotted the two men attempting to cross into India and warned them to stop. However, when they allegedly continued their attempt to infiltrate, the troops opened fire, killing both men.

The deceased are reportedly Pakistani nationals. However, the BSF has not yet issued an official statement providing details about the incident.

According to information from the BSF, another suspected infiltrator was also attempting to enter Indian territory during the incident. He had reportedly crossed into India but fled back towards Pakistan after BSF personnel opened fire.

Security agencies have put border areas on alert following the incident, while further details are awaited.
