Punjab Newline | Ferozepur
A major accident took place on the Ferozepur–Patti road near Bandala Bridge, which connects the Malwa and Majha regions, on Wednesday night at around 9:30 pm.
A Border Security Force (BSF) bus travelling from Hussainiwala to the Khemkaran headquarters reportedly lost control while attempting to overtake a trailer coming from the opposite direction. The bus veered off the road and overturned in nearby paddy fields.
Six BSF personnel travelling in the bus sustained injuries. Fellow jawans and local residents immediately launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured personnel to the BSF hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Fortunately, no loss of life was reported in the incident.
BSF Inspector Ram Kumar said that the bus was carrying 34 personnel from Hussainiwala to the Khemkaran headquarters. The accident occurred near the Malwa–Majha Bridge at Bandala when the driver lost control of the vehicle while overtaking a trailer, causing the bus to plunge into deep agricultural fields.
BSF personnel later used a crane to pull the overturned bus out of the fields after several hours of effort. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
