District Admin Categorically Denies allegations as misleading and far away from truth
Nobody will be allowed to indulge in illegal mining activities

Refuting the allegations of illegal mining in Banur Weir behind the Chhatbir in the SAS Nagar district as baseless and
far away from truth, the District Administration has categorically said that no such illegal activities were going
on in the district.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain said that after the allegations came to the fore about the illegal mining, the District Mines and Geology Officers were immediately rushed to the site to check the veracity of the allegations. It was found that the mining on the site is going on as per the KML file prepared by the Mines and Geology and Water Resources Department for delisting of the Banur Weir to prevent the flooding in the rainy season.
She said that the desilting of the catchment area of the Banur Weir is a must to restore the original capacity of the Weir. She said that to allege that the desilting is illegal mining is totally wrong, misleading and irresponsible.
