AAP Punjab chief spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Wednesday accused the BJP of misusing central agencies to target the Bhagwant Mann government, claiming that recent CBI raids yielded nothing.
Addressing a press conference, Dhaliwal said the BJP should apologise to Punjab for allegedly harassing its elected Chief Minister. He claimed the raids were aimed at maligning the AAP government and creating an atmosphere of fear through agencies such as the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Dhaliwal said Punjabis would not be intimidated by such pressure tactics and accused the BJP of failing to gain public support through its recent political programmes in the state.
He also referred to the farmers’ agitation, saying Punjab had not forgotten the deaths of farmers during the protest. Citing the example of Porus stopping Alexander’s advance, Dhaliwal said the AAP would “stop the BJP’s unbridled horse” in Punjab in the 2027 Assembly elections.
Strongly condemning the raids, he said, “The Central Bureau of Investigation has itself now proved our honesty by conducting raids at so many places and not finding a single penny anywhere.”
Dhaliwal asserted that the AAP would continue to stand with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and would not be intimidated by the CBI or ED.
