Central Government has formed a review committee to examine Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh's film 'Satluj' following an appeal by Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon.
The development was confirmed by BJP leader RP Singh. The committee will review the film's content, factual accuracy, and the events portrayed in it. It will also look into claims that the movie was released on an OTT platform without receiving certification from the Central Board of Film Certification.
The film is based on the life and struggle of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. After remaining unreleased for nearly three years, it was finally released on an OTT platform two days ago under the new title 'Satluj', replacing its earlier title 'Punjab 95'.
However, the film was removed from the platform just two days after its release, bringing the case of Jaswant Singh Khalra back into the national spotlight and triggering fresh debate over the film's release and certification process.
