Centre of Excellence for Mustard would be set up in Rewari : Rana

Haryana cabinet minister Shyam Singh Rana said a Centre of Excellence for Mustard would be set up in Rewari. Besides, there is a proposal to open a seed sale centre in Dahina/Qawwali village as well. The Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister was replying to a question raised by a member of the House during the Assembly Session today.

He informed the House that on the request of Kosli MLA Laxman Singh Yadav, action has been initiated on the proposal for setting up a CoEM at Tahna (Rewari) and a detailed draft of the CoEM has been prepared. About 20 acres of land is required for setting up this Centre of Excellence. The Department also has about 23 acres of land on Rewari-Jhajjar Road on NH-71. He informed that in a meeting held on March 2, 2023, about two years ago, the officials of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and experts/scientists of Chaudhary Charan Singh Agricultural University, Hisar had agreed on the draft proposal of CoEM at Tahna, Rewari.
