Traffic was disrupted on the PR-7 Road in Zirakpur on Monday after a truck loaded with stones lost control following a steering failure and rammed into a garbage collection truck parked along the roadside. Two other trucks were also hit in the chain collision.
The accident took place near Pradhan Dhaba when the stone-laden truck was travelling from Mohali towards Dera Bassi. According to initial information, the truck’s steering got jammed, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The collision affected traffic movement on the PR-7 Road and led to a temporary traffic jam. Fortunately, no driver sustained injuries in the accident.
Soon after being informed, the owners of the vehicles reached the spot. They held discussions over the damage caused to the vehicles and mutually settled the matter.
A crane was subsequently brought in to remove the damaged vehicles from the road. Traffic movement returned to normal after the vehicles were cleared from the accident site.
