Faridkot CIA Staff has arrested two motorcycle-borne drug peddlers and recovered 208 grams of heroin from their possession during a special anti-drug operation.

The arrested accused have been identified as Manpreet Singh alias Mannu and Harpreet Singh alias Harry, both residents of Ferozepur.

Based on the interrogation of the arrested men, the police have also nominated two other alleged associates in the case — Lakhwinder Singh alias Lakkha and Ramanjit Singh alias Sonu, also residents of Ferozepur. Efforts are currently underway to trace and arrest them.

According to the police, the operation was carried out under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gurbans Singh Bains as part of the ongoing campaign against drug trafficking in the district.

A CIA Staff team was conducting patrolling and checking near the Dana Mandi on Ferozepur Road when they noticed two men moving suspiciously on a motorcycle. The police stopped the vehicle and conducted a search.

During the search, 208 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the two accused. During preliminary questioning, the accused allegedly revealed that they had obtained the heroin from Lakhwinder Singh alias Lakkha and Ramanjit Singh alias Sonu.

Following the recovery, the police have registered a case against all four accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at City Police Station, Faridkot. Further investigation is in progress, and police officials said raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining suspects.
