A 15-year-old Class 11 student allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Bapu Dham Colony on Friday morning. Police said no suicide note was recovered from the spot and the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem examination.
According to police, information was received around 8:30 am that a minor girl had allegedly hanged herself from a ceiling fan hook inside a house in Bapu Dham Colony. Station House Officer Ram Ratan Sharma reached the spot with a police team. The girl was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Family members told police that the deceased was a Class 11 student of Tribune Model School in Sector 29. They said she had been under stress for some time because her recent examination papers had not gone as expected.
Police said the girl’s father is a retired Army personnel. The family had shifted to a rented house in Bapu Dham Colony about three months ago. Besides the deceased, the family includes one sister and two brothers.
Officials said no suicide note was found during the preliminary investigation. Police are examining all possible angles, and further investigation is in progress.
