Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has issued a video message following the murder of Parvinder Singh Jhota in Mansa district, condemning the incident and assuring strict action against those responsible. He said the state government would not allow anyone to disturb Punjab’s law and order under any circumstances.
Chief Minister said the main accused in the case had been arrested and that the police had already been directed to take the strictest possible action. He added that if any conspiracy behind the murder comes to light, all those involved would face action and no conspirator would be spared.
Mann directed Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav to ensure the toughest possible action against the culprits within the framework of the law. He emphasised that the state’s youth were its most valuable asset and that any attempt to undermine peace and harmony would not be tolerated.
Reiterating the government's commitment to its anti-drug campaign, the Chief Minister said strict action would be taken against anyone involved in drug trafficking, whether selling pharmaceutical drugs illegally or chitta (heroin). He asserted that no one involved in the drug trade would be spared.
Mann also expressed solidarity with Jhota’s family, assuring them that the Punjab government stood firmly by their side. He appealed to the people of Punjab to maintain peace, brotherhood and communal harmony, and urged them not to take any step that could disturb law and order.
Chief Minister said protecting the younger generation from drugs and maintaining peace across the state remained the government's responsibility. He called on citizens to cooperate with the administration and allow the law to take its course.
