Expressing concern over the growing use of single-use plastic, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday called for urgent and collective efforts to reduce its usage, stressing that the issue poses serious environmental and health risks.
Speaking during the ongoing session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today, the Chief Minister said that PM Narendra Modi has been consistently emphasising the need to eliminate single-use plastic across the country, highlighting it as a national priority.
Terming the issue as extremely important, the Chief Minister urged all public representatives to take the lead in creating awareness among citizens about avoiding plastic use. He cautioned that the excessive use of plastic is contributing to serious health concerns, including life-threatening diseases such as cancer.
Appealing through the House, the Chief Minister urged all members to actively work towards this cause, underlining that meaningful change can only be achieved through united and sustained efforts.
