Said - never thought I would be paying tribute to Patar Sahib so soon
Every Punjabi speaker reveres Patar Sahib, it is not possible at all that one who loves Punjabi language does not love Patar Sahib: CM Bhagwant Mann

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann attended the antim ardas of famous Punjabi poet Dr Surjit Patar. The Chief Minister got emotional and said that he never thought that we will have to pay tribute to Patar Sahib so soon.
He said that whenever I got a chance, I used to read the words written by Patar Sahib and discuss them. He said that we will start the Patar Award on behalf of the Punjab Government in which poetry competitions will be organized at different levels among students from seventh grade to graduation.
He said that Patar sahab has done a lot of work for the development and expansion of the Punjabi language. Every Punjabi speaking person feels proud of him. He said that it is not possible at all that someone who loves the Punjabi language does not love Patar sahab.
He said that today Punjabi mother tongue is sad because its beloved son has left this world. Such talents are born only once in a century. He said that Patar sahab's family is like my family too. I am here for them.
