Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated the newly constructed 'Vardhman Block' at the Government Primary School in Lohara on Monday, braving heavy rainfall to attend the event. Despite the adverse weather, the scheduled program went ahead as planned, with the Chief Minister arriving on time to dedicate the new academic block to students.
The sudden spell of rain did little to dampen the enthusiasm of local residents, teachers, and schoolchildren, who gathered in large numbers to witness the inauguration.
Addressing the gathering, Mann said the Punjab Government remains committed to strengthening the state's education system by improving school infrastructure and providing better learning facilities for students.
The Chief Minister emphasized that education continues to be one of the government's top priorities and that sustained efforts are being made to modernize government schools across Punjab.
The heavy rain posed logistical challenges for the Ludhiana Police and district administration, which made additional arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. A strong police presence was deployed at the venue, while traffic police managed vehicle movement to facilitate the Chief Minister's convoy and minimize inconvenience to the public.
Following the inauguration, Mann inspected the school campus in the presence of education department officials and local MLAs. The newly inaugurated block is part of the Punjab Government's ongoing initiative to upgrade government schools with modern infrastructure, in line with the state's 'Schools of Eminence' model.
