A sensation prevailed in Zirakpur’s Peermuchalla area after a decapitated body was found at Nature Park on Thursday morning, creating panic among residents and people who regularly visit the park for morning and evening walks.

Soon after receiving information, police and forensic teams reached the spot and conducted a detailed inspection of the area. Evidence was collected from the scene as part of the investigation.

Based on the condition of the body, police suspect that the person may have been murdered. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.

Investigators are also trying to determine whether the murder took place inside the park or whether the body was brought from another location and dumped there.

Police have begun examining CCTV footage from cameras installed in and around the area to identify suspicious persons and vehicles that may be linked to the incident.

The discovery has also raised questions over security arrangements at the park, particularly during early morning and late evening hours.

Police said the body would be sent for post-mortem examination, which is expected to help establish the cause and approximate time of death. Efforts are currently underway to identify the deceased and gather further clues related to the incident.
