Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu met Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria on Saturday at Punjab Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh to discuss strategies for empowering youth in border areas through skill development initiatives.
During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of connecting young people from border regions with modern skill development programs to enhance their employability and promote self-reliance. They noted that equipping youth with industry-relevant skills would create better employment opportunities and contribute to the overall development of the region.
The discussion also highlighted the need to provide advanced training and job opportunities to integrate border-area youth into the mainstream economy. The leaders said such initiatives would not only generate new career prospects but also accelerate the social and economic progress of these regions.
Sandhu and Kataria described the country's youth as the greatest force in nation-building and stressed that skill development, quality education, and improved employment opportunities remain top government priorities. They also underscored that sustained and effective efforts in this direction are essential for realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
