Dhirendra Shastri’s Hanumant Katha begins in Ludhiana; traffic diversions in place till September 30

Preparations have reached the final stage for the five-day Shri Hanumant Katha by Bageshwar Dham Sarkar chief Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, which will be held from September 26 to 30 at the GLADA Ground in Sector 39 on Chandigarh Road, opposite Vardhman Mills.

The religious discourse will take place daily from 3 pm to 7 pm, with thousands of devotees expected to attend. Organizers have erected a massive tent and completed most arrangements at the venue. Along with narrating the Hanumant Katha, Pandit Dhirendra Shastri is also expected to interact with devotees and address their spiritual concerns.

However, Shastri could not reach Ludhiana on Friday evening as scheduled after a flight from New Delhi to Halwara was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. He is now expected to arrive at Chandigarh Airport on an alternative flight, stay overnight in Chandigarh, and travel to Ludhiana on Saturday. According to the earlier schedule, he was to reach Ludhiana on Friday evening and meet a select group of devotees.

In view of the large gathering anticipated during the event, Ludhiana Traffic Police has issued a special traffic management plan effective from September 26 to 30. Several routes around the venue will remain diverted to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and public safety.

Major diversion points have been established at Samrala Chowk, Transport Nagar Cut, Hira Nagar, Jamalpur Lights and Kohara Chowk. Vehicles travelling from Samrala Chowk towards Sahnewal will be diverted through Transport Nagar Cut, Hira Nagar, Oswal Chowk, Sherpur Chowk and Giaspura Chowk.

Separate diversion routes have also been designated for vehicles travelling from Kohara Chowk towards Sahnewal. Light vehicles heading towards Vardhman Chowk will follow a different route via Police Colony Chowk, Veer Palace Chowk and Mundian Khurd Chowk before reaching Kohara Chowk.

Parking arrangements have been made near GLADA Ground, Mohini Resort, Everest School and Shri Ram Darbar. A separate parking area has been reserved for VIP vehicles near Shri Ram Darbar.

Traffic police have appealed to residents and visitors to follow the designated route plan and avoid unnecessary travel through diversion zones during the event period.
