A fresh development has emerged in the Delhi excise policy case, as another leader from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has declined to appear before the court. Former MLA Durgesh Pathak has written a letter to Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma of the Delhi High Court, stating that he stands firmly with AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and will not participate in the proceedings.
In his letter, Pathak said he would neither appear personally nor appoint any lawyer to represent him in the case.
Earlier, senior AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had also written to Justice Sharma on Tuesday, informing the court of his decision not to pursue the case further in her courtroom. A day before that, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal had made a similar announcement, stating that he would not appear before the judge either in person or through legal representation.
The coordinated stance by top AAP leaders has drawn significant political and legal attention, raising questions about the future course of proceedings in the excise policy case.
