Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia on Thursday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to target opposition-ruled states ahead of elections.
Reacting to the recent ED action in Punjab, Sisodia alleged that the BJP initiates ED raids whenever elections draw near. He claimed that even if four lakhs of ED officials were sent to Punjab, Punjabis would not be intimidated.
Sisodia further alleged that the BJP aims to gain control over Punjab and has deployed central agencies for that purpose. He claimed that ED raids in the state would not uncover corruption, asserting that Punjab is being governed by an “honest government.”
AAP leader also alleged that ED officials were entering homes by breaking locks during search operations. The BJP and central agencies have not immediately responded to the allegations.
