FEROEPUR: A shockwave engulfed the Ferozepur area when a four members of a family belonging to Ferozepur allegedly tried to end their lives by jumping into a Rajasthan Feeder near Ghall Kalan on Ferozepur-Moga road today morning.
As per the information, one person identified as Jaswinder Singh alias Raju (33), driver by profession, his daughter Gurleen Kaur(11), cousin Agam (11), and handicap brother Bantu. Raju had also been live on Facebook before jumping into the canal. No suicide note from the spot has so far been found while it took the bodies into possession and sent these for autopsy. The police are investigating.
All had left the home and jumped into the car at a fast speed. On suspecting something suspicious, brother and second son of Jaswinder Singh followed them and found that they had jumped into the canal. It is said that a few days back the wife of Jaswinder Singh had left the house in some dispute and was under stress on this account. He had been on Facebook and expressed his sentiments and talked about ending his life.
However, the bodies of all recovered from the canal after the rescue operation was launched by the local divers but the main cause of taking this extreme step is still a mystery.
